I love those pass-through ones but yeah the prices give me an itch.
Greg is happy with this monitor but may be due to the fact he only shoots in low light conditions period and if he is shaded from low sun by the hood the background light is low enough for this monitor to work ok with a hood around it.
I know myself in mid day sun the monitor is hard to see, without the hood not at all, Chris puts his SLR on manages it in full daylight just sticks his face up to the hood and sometmes has a jacket over the top of him.
The other side is the price of the glasses, they could have some room to move and go down a bit yet so might be worth waiting till it levels out a bit and there is more use of them, maybe it has I dont know.
Im looking at a Sony TRV cam thinking it would be hand to just have one of those eyepeices on a headset to look into as they would with the camera.
I feel a hack might be needed on an old one to try this out.
Perhaps the glasses thing is a bit much after all it is not to fly the heli just to viewfind which most people do via one eye with no trouble and perhaps what Greg would be used to as a life time photographer more than a monitor.
Got any ideas (I would not be surprised as your resourcefullness goes to date) where one might procure such a viewfinder monitor seperate from the camera ?
Ill have a look around mself
