Hi,

it's the unique design of the 3DNT which I like most. Than there is the sound, the flying capabilities, etc.

BTW:
here is a very interesting page with lots of pictures about the assembly of a 3DNT. Text of the page is in (Austrian) German, but the pictures will tell you all!

What I like about the ThreeDee NT :

The sound, or to be precise its absence.
The maintenance, no vibration, no cleaning, no free-play, no trouble for the first 4 gallons.
The weight; which make acrobatics look huge, easy and almost effortless (although it is not the case from the pilot's standpoint)

What I dislike :
The speed, because my airfield is somehow limited and as it goes fast far away, I will soon need binoculars.
The sound, because I need to get used not to hear the engine, 82 dB 3 meters away hovering at full speed (1700rpm) while it hovers at 1350rpm and 79dB
The look, because I need to get used to it when it is far away.

What I liked most :
the user manual, from a box to a hands free hovering helicopter at 1400rpm without any mistake, tuning or even triming.

Definitely a very unique helicopter

And if you want to see nice pictures of the building process, have a look at the site of a friend :

pascal

is it capable of fai type flying or is it too twitchy, are the mixing ratios on the head adjustable. which motor and ratio are you using, some opinions are that it does not fly that well.. i like smooth precise aerobatics, some 3d but its not really my cup o tea..

At present I mostly use my Three-Dee for FAI type flying.
Loops are HUGE, Rolls are slow, as I am flying with SAB carbon paddles that weight 30g.
I have a friend that flies with 40g SAB paddles and it decreases the roll rate by a factor 2 compared to my ones. Actually Jan Henseleit recommends not to use paddles heavier than 40g.
The Bell mixers have two positions and I use the one that smooth the behavior of the Three-Dee.
By using the stock paddles (20g) and the other position of the mixers, another friend of mine turns his 3D into a very responsive heli with full 3D ability at 1500 rpm.

Compare to other helis, speed and acceleration are impressive, and it allows you to make loops that go almost twice higher than any other heli I flew.
Following the advice of Jan, I am using S9206 for the three cyclic servos. Due to the reduced travel of the servo for collective movement, you must use high torque servos. Now that better servos are available, I would use S9451 to get a more precise feeling around hover.
At present with the S9206 I have more difficulties to hold a competition hover than when using a Millenium2.

i am using sab 601 30 gr paddle ( roll in 3 sec)
i beleive Pascal is using 20 gr paddle ( roll in 1.7 sec)
i am using jr digital servo 8411 on the cyclic.
accuracy hovering is very good , similar to the millenium with same servo .
according to other 3dnt owner , the result with 8411 is better than with futaba 9206.
280 mah consumption by flight of 14 mn
sanyo 2700 mah nimh could be a good option , weight and sizes are similar to the 1700 au suggested by henseleit .
gv1 is very helpfull .
very, very good heli

new millenium pro with 91 could be a challenger ...
