Aerial Photography and Video > tail wag problem with 450 using ap2000i and logictech 2100t

I am having a problem with tail wag. It is slight, but a bit annoying. Changing the gyro gain does not help. It just changes the frequency of the wag. I have placed two videos on youtube. please look at them and tell me what you think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD5URLfFEAE This is with 15% gyro gain on the AP2000i which equals about 50% to 60% in a typical tail gyro gain setting. It says 12% on the audio but it is 15%. Adding more gain just increases the wag frequency.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUTVbWq5RRQ This is with 8% gain which equates to a typical gyro gain setting of about 30% tail gyro gain.

I am using a Logitech 2100t gyro and a hyperion ds12 digital tail servo. I am using the ap2000i system to help stabize the heli for AP work.

Any advice is appreciated.

Gyro

I personally would try a different gyro. the reason for that is if you have messed with your gians and it still does that it might be a bad gyro. Also are you in HH or rate mode?

So to clarify you are using the AP2000I 4 th channel trimmed to + 12&15%? You said it equals 50% to 60% in tx gain setting. Not sure if your numbers are correct.

I use the spare channel to adjust the gain on my ail/ele gyros (flybarless) they are set very low gain 10% rate mode with the JR500 gyro. To get in to HH mode I would have to be above 50% on the AP2000I trim setting. From my understanding up to 50% is rate mode, 50% to 100% is HH mode.

Good luck

Not sure if this will help but I went through three different 401's on my 450 trying to get rid of a wag with no luck! Put on a new esc. an all was good again.
