e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Video - Parallel Figure 8 Challenge

I don't believe anyone has presented this challenge. These are what I call parallel figure 8s. Unlike the traditional figure 8, in which the maneuver is performed perpindicular to yourself, this type of figure 8 is performed parallel to yourself. I guess you could also call these "north-south" figure 8s as opposed to "east-west" when describing the traditional figure 8. Anyway, the parallel variety is much more difficult to perform. You must be very comfortable with nose-in FF to perform the parallel figure 8. I believe many of you will find these fun and challenging to perform.

I would highly recommend either clicking on the video and viewing the high quality version in YouTube or viewing the high quality version at blip.tv. Have fun and post your parallel figure 8 videos!

I second it. It sounds better than parallel 8s. I can not do them very well right now but I will try.

"Racin 8's" - literally "Racin ovals" with a "twist". Aye.

So what do we have so far?
Toolman piros
Burleyman pop-ups
Racin ovals
Racin 8's

Who'd I miss?

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

Shizack, Theres one called "Doing the fender' where you fly a large circle and within that circle you do piro's. It looked pretty cool.
Nice job "dan the man" harder than it looks in a very confined space with a very small heli

see now I must be different from everybody,I've been doing my 8's like that since day 1.its because of the shape of my back yard

has anyne been trying verticle 8's there 4 ways to do each orientation, and if you want to get your precision together, its awesome

Theres one called "Doing the fender' where you fly a large circle and within that circle you do piro's

the piro is at the top of a sharply banked turn,it didn't seem to catch on,but i still do them all the time,it looks cool but easy to do

mfcrash has been doing the "piro at the top of a banked turn" for a while now but I just don't do "in motion" piros all that often.

I did something a long time ago that somebody said was called the TJ piro, that is where you leave the heli in one place and walk around it to work through all the orientations without having the heli have to move.

The TJ piro It's a whole new way of RC ing. Leave the heli where it is and the pilot moves I'm going to try that today TJ, it sounds harder than it looks, make sure you don't trip

Yeah it is like patting your tummy while rubbing your head ... it is an odd skill that I am not sure is worth the effort but if you haven't tried it, you gotta do it once

TJ, I tried it today--wicked hard I almost tripped . I'm going to let the heli do the moving from now on. Although I can take the Heli for a walk like ShiZack does

The vertical figure 8's will give your left thumb a good workout. It takes alot of collective management and you get some backwards flying time too.....

Tom..... No "D" flying....
