A guy over in the beginners forum asked about a heli over an Bananahobby named the Skyartec Wasp V3. It is a 17in diameter FP belt driven heli with a BL motor and separates that include a HH gyro. Looks entertaining and very well thought out all at the same time.

I've seen that somewhere else... Don't remember where though.

I do remember some folks on RCG talking about those. Mixed reviews. Some just didn't like the look, and wouldn't fly them. Others said they had them and loved them.

So it's the usual mixed bag.

Yes, I was aware of this FP heli. I was tempted to purchase the V3, but I have decided on building a belt driven tail FP heli based upon the GuruZ 300 Neon Series Conversion Kit: http://ka-planes.com/inc/sdetail/21972. You just add the HBFP head parts or Xtreme upgraded head parts or a combination thereof, electronics and blades. I'm considering this setup:

- Esky 3900Kv or HDX300 BL Motor
- Dynam 25A ESC
- HS-55 servos x 2 on the swash
- HS-50 servo on the tail
- Telebee HH gyro
- AR6100 Rx
- Xtreme 8 degree woodies
- 11.1V 1350mAH 20C lipo

It should be a fun heli to fly. Though, I will tell you that I still love my Super FP heli with its motorized tail .

Thanks, Doug.

I just discovered that Highvolt Heli is selling the RTF V3 for $134.00. That's a great deal for a RTF brushless belt driven tail heli...even includes a 900mAh lipo.

They're an "okay" heli, but they seem to be another case of "you get what you pay for".

Reports are that the alum frame is very thin, and subject to vibration. It bends quite easily.

For my $$ I think I'd stay with the Guru-Z Belt drive frame.
Sounds like good Compitition.

Sucks!
My friend push and push and got me one of those.

the landing gear is easy to bent even on nice soft landings. Frame is not CNC, its very soft sheet metal. The head is same as blade CP, they just glue so that Its fixed pitch. Gyro on there give me problem. It will do 90* at random time. Can't fly it in windy day outside.

hmm.. may be I'll fix it and fly it oneday, when I'm bored in mid winter.

HBK2 built with cheapest parts!
