I'll be in Bournemouth. I was thinking I might stop by if there is anything close by. I won't have a heli with me but I might have a few Boeing employees that would love to see the helis flying.

Did you say bring an umbrella? We are in the middle of a Noreaster right now on the east coast of US. They suspended the World Series baseball game.... unheard of.

If you did have a heli with you, would there be any issues with using your 12Z in the UK?

I never even thought of that. But since I won't have it....

It is set up for 2.4 I guess it would have too much power?

Wimborne is where the company is that I'm going to. Anybody have specific field location and contact info?

Just out of interest, in your 12Z are you using a Futaba 2.4GHz setup?

If so, and you did bring it over, I think you'll be OK power wise in the UK as Futaba appear to use 100mW worldwide.

I'm in Bournemouth now. Working in Winborne for the next week or so. I'm not sure if I'll get an opportunity to get out for a heli visit as the fellow I'm with will be taking me on a tour over the weekend. Unfortunately we are working till almost dark during the day.

Roads are very different than the US. Roundabouts everywhere. Road identifications signs are very different. Queues... Give Ways... it's a different world. People are fantastic! Having fun.

Typing this from the Hop In pub on St. Michaels st in Bournemouth. Staying in the Marriott on the cliff.

Prices are crazy. Internet service at the hotel is £15 a day which is about $28 a day. Everything is 1-1/2 to 2 times the prices in the States.

Having fun though.

You're close to Salisbury! There's a beautiful cathedral there that is worth the drive. And if you've gone that far then you could hit Stonehenge. FYI, I wasn't impressed by it but at least you can say you've seen it.

And you're also close to Portsmouth. Never went but the crew I was with did and they said it was awesome. Old naval history. Have a Strongbow or HSB for me.

The helicopter is a machine trying to commit suicide, our job is convincing her to fly...

Bournemouth is great it the summer!! Reminds me of spring break on the really nice weekends. If you get a chance to walk that entire park you should do it. It starts at the beach and goes up from there. Gorgeous.

The above post courtesy of you tax dollars hard at work. Enjoy. TT Minit Titan, Spektrum DX6i

The food is great. Lot's of variety. Great hospitality. The pubs are super sociable ....

I really like it here. Since the election I've been asking for directions to the embassy

Ha Ha...

Hey there is an article in The Times newspaper here about them using our heli's to sample whales spout to catch the mist on a petri dish. They do lab work on it to check on the health of the whale. Looks like a Vario head but not sure of the copter.
