I have a Solid G that seems to have a strange problem, and I'm looking to see if any of you have had this issue.

I'm using the Solid G with a BLS251 servo on my Trex 600N, when the heli is sitting still on the bench the tail servo twitches very slightly then goes back to being steady. You can detect this in fight though it is very slight, and the tail seems to hold solid.

Here's my set up,

Futaba 12Z with 2.4 module
Futaba 8 channel 2.4 receiver
Align 2n1
3-BLS451s
1-BLS251 with the Solid G gyro
1-9550 on the throtle
Align gov.

I've tried a different regulator(Arizona), a 72 mhz receiver, I've even sent the gyro back to CY and they sent me a brand new one that does the same thing. Their customer service is second to none, hands down!!!

I switched to a 611 on the same BLS251 servo, and the problem disappeared. I would really like to get this Solid G to work.

Any suggestions?

I have 3 Solid-Gs and they all do it. Just a slight twitch every now and then on the bench. If you sit and hover you can see it do it every once in a while in the air. It never really bothered me since the gyro flies so great all of the time and I never notice it while I am moving around. I think it is just normal behavior for this gyro

That's an interesting problem. I have 4 Solid-G's and none do what you describe. I have changed to MPI regulators set to 6 volts on my Nitro heli's. These work great. I have one Duralite reg left and it works fine as well. I would try disconnecting cyclic/Throttle servos one at a time testing whether the twitch goes away. Does it do it if you have only the gyro and tail servo hooked up? Just trying to give you some ideas!

I'm also running the Spektrum regulators as well for the gyro/tail servo.

The only time I recall having a kick in flight was when the engines were a bit rich on run in!

I have used 9251,9256, and 8900g. All of those did the twitch. Gyro always flys great.

We have seen this from time to time on the bench, but none we have seen do this in the air. We have examined it quite closely and it apears to be a small "blip" for lack of a better term that the sensor picks up while sitting idle. Most of the ones we have seen do this were using the 8900G servo. But again, they never did this in the air that we have noticed.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

I get that "small blip" or "small jump" or "small twitch" or whatever you call that with my solid-g and BLS-251. No problem in the air though.

#61 on the 700N list and Proud of it.
