Hi All,

Are you guys running the counter bearing? The two motors I'll be running are:

Actro 24-3 760 5mm shaft
Scorpion 4035-560 6mm shaft

Do either of these two motors need the counter bearing?

Thanks!

Both of those motors are enormously powerful. (I run the 4035-560, KC runs the 24-3.) The purpose of the counter-bearing is to keep the pinion/maingear aligned and engaged under extreme torque. I believe the biggest deciding factor of whether the counter-bearing is necessary or not is the way the heli is flown. I don't do much more than sport flight; flips, rolls, fff, so I don't believe I need it. (We'll see.) I know you fly harder than that.

I used a counterbearing once and it was a pain.
I currently don't use it on any of my helis and never really had a problem, i did striped one gear but the pinion was not lined up and the mesh was off.

Motors like Zpower need it, anything with a medioker shaft stiffness is where it is most needed to be honest. Actros, Scorpions don't really need it. Orbits do as their shafts are longer and tend to bend without and if mesh is abit to tight.
