Hi everyone, I just signed up at this site and I must say that it is totally awesome!
I will be taking the plunge into heli land soon with a Shuttle ZX that I am acquiring and it looks like I will be able to find all the help I need in the future here!
Thanks!!
Myles

Snow!!! Ahhhhh!

Hi, and greetings! Although I'm not new to the R/C scene, I have always wanted to try helis but for some reason I never did!
I can't fly jets here in the winter so now is the perfect time to go the heli route!
Looking forward to the experience!
Myles

Hi,
Be careful in the cold. plastic choppers get brittle in the cold. Other than that it is a lot of fun in the winter. I have flown at 10 degrees F.

Jetset,

I just wanted to say hi from one Canuck to another. I'm out of the country right now (teaching in South Korea) but I hope to be back in Canada for Christmas. I don't think I'll be learning to fly in the winter though, since I'm from even farther north than you (I'm from Ottawa)

I would think that as long as it's not terribly cold, learning in the winter would be an okay way to do it since soft snow would be more forgiving of mistakes. But like rhd said, the plastics would be more brittle.

I've been hanging around this forum for a few weeks now and I'm impressed, everybody's been friendly and quite a few seem to be very knowledgeable. I would say you've come to the right place

Thanks,

dru
