| I think the key item I'd take away from that picture is 6.0V max.
There was a time when NiMh packs couldn't cut the mustard when it came to high current demands due to a higher than usable internal resistance. The internal resistance of NiCd packs was relatively low compared to those NiMh packs, and that would be the reason Futaba puts that notice on the servos.
You can get decent quality NiMh packs these days that don't exhibit that problem, they would work fine.
As for LiPo packs, they can supply the current without a noticeable voltage drop, but you need to make sure you don't exceed that 6.0V rating to the servo.
