according to the readyheli head speed calculator a 14t would give me 2100 to 2200 head speed on a 8 cell

I took off 10%, loss of efficiency.

Yes, you always take off about 10-15% to get the actual in-flight headspeed.

Using the Readyheli calculator, a 15T pinion will give you 2092 head speed.

This depends on who you ask but for the most part, yes that is a good head speed. Some people like to run a little higher head speed as increases the heli's responsiveness. The cyclic response is better but it may be a little less stable. A higher head speed does help in the wind though. I like it a little higher.

That is a statement. 'well said'...

Headspeeds over 2100 eat up the battery too fast. If you want more response then install a Kasama head and keep the headspeed at 2100. That’s a much more efficient way to get faster cyclic and better control in the wind. Rotor Tech 610mm blades also help a lot – that extra 10mm does make a difference – I like them better than my Radix SB blades.
