i was wondering what a good reliable replacement antenna was for 72 mhz? i have futaba and would like to replace the antena with one of those short whip versions. are they even used on helis? anyway anything helps.

I still use them, with no problems. Quick UK and Dean's, I have not tried the others.

do you think your range might be decreased by using those?
and also the helis i want to use them on are in fuselages, do you think it wouls have to pretrude out od the fuse or could they stay inside out of sight?

If the fuse is plastic or fiberglass it's Rf transparent. Your range is only going to be cut by 15-20%. Even at that I don't think you'll be flying that far out.

Yes technically, the range will be reduced. But unless you have Eagle eyes it's a moot point since in either case you wont be able to see the heli at that range.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

I used Deans whip one piece . The two piece seemed to loosen a lot.On my planes I stuck whip on bottom of fuse .

I dont know how to fly just how to not crash !!!!!

I used the whip and rubber ducky.......never had a problem.

No problems, some of the sail guys with C/F fuse are running the ant inside without problems?
