| I would say noThe g23 was the thin fin head with the 167a carb.
The G230 is the Vario style engine with a 2 bolt cylinder instead of 4.
The G231 is a modified G23 with a thicker fin head for better cooling and more porting for extra power. It also sports the 643 bigger bore carb.
Some parts are not interchangeable between them. You could contact Al at bhhanson.com and he will surely answer all your questions and maybe even rebuild your engine to something better.
