Anyone using this setup? Can I use the 1520uSee capable of 333Hz drive mod as listed for the 3400G? Could not turn up any help after doing a search. I did send Spartan an email asking but that was only a couple hours ago and I'm not to good a waiting...thanks!

Pretty much one of the hottest set-ups.

I'm using the servo on my Dragonus 450 (with Logictech 2100T) and it works flawlessly.

Very smooth, fast, accurate servo, as you would expect from JR.

With the Spartan it would be even better!

Just make sure your linkage is working smooth and easy.

I tried it in my Atom with the DS760 gyro and it was hunting even after going to much lower gain that I thought I should.

Took it out and threw in a 8900G and that's when I realized my links were too tight. I forgot to size them like I did ALL the others on my ATOM and K3D. So I'm sure the 3500g would be fine now.

Do you have the USB for your Spartan? If so, just set the speed of the servo like advertised by JR. I think (not sure) all the rest is the same as for a 8900G.

I checked with Angelos earlier, he told me Alan is using this set up and select 1520/250Hz and you will be fine

Also, one might want to add counterweight to your tail blade grip to minimize the "tennis racket" effect.

A guy on another forum produced a video demonstrating the force needed to change the tail rotor pitch with and without the counterbalance.

Without, using the t500 plastic grip, the force was about 15 ounces.
With, the force was reduced to 2 ounces.

And he is machining screws that hold the tail blade in the grip that are calibrated both for the T500 plastic grip(approx. 1/2 gram per screw) and for the Kasama grip.

Perhaps that might be of help.

It certainly helps, but over weight will make the piro uncontrollable and non-stop. I CNC a few pairs for test and while testing the weight, I crashed at least 15 time but now the prototype on my 450 has been running for over three months more than 200 flights with flip roll and piro, I log the servo current with Eagle tree and observed a lot less spike on the curve, that shows a more calm operation in the tail.

I posted something in my site
