Hey guys,

Need alittle help since im very new to nitros.... I love my electrics and have had this trex 600n pro for a year and im only starting my 4th gallon.. I was flying this weekend and I was in an inverted hover about 30ft when the engine quit? Luckly I was able to right it but it landed hard and luckly I only broke the landing skids. No balde damage or anything else for that matter. Im really frustrated with this nitro stuff but I think its just my lack of knowledge. The backplate was hot to touch and you couldnt keep your finger on it for to long. What happened? Did it lean out and shut down? It seemed like there was enough smoke but it wasnt that much comming out. I didnt know the engines will do this....Do you guys fly your first flight and then set your needle for the day? This was my first flight of the day and I never checked how hot the motor was getting. Its been chilly hear but this past weekend it was warm about 70+. Do I need to change needle setting everytime I fly?

Anyways thanks for any responds since its so much easier to just plug in my trex 500 and fly... Was thinking about dumping my 600n to get a 600e? Any help will be much appreciated...

Thanks

Yes if the temp went from warm to cold you need to increase the fuel flow. You will get a feel for the engine as time on the machine increases. Also check the clunk can follow the fuel. If you feel a lack of power or the engine starts to sound different or harsh as compared to a mellow tone land and check it only takes a second or two to ruin an engine.

How do you increase fuel flow? Is that by changing the engine rich/lean needle? Also it just shut off like I went into throttle hold. It wasn't even running when I went over to it after it hit the ground....and the backplate was VERY hot...

Thanks

OS , YS which one are you running. If OS turn in the high carb adj. screw till it stops(not hard) and turn it back out 2 turns .Fly the heli and keep checking it for temp (back plate). You should be able to hold your finger on it for 3 sec. if you can't go a few clicks out and if you can hold your finger on it for 5-8 sec. turn a click or 2 in. Hope that helps...

Check your clunk line.Make sure it moves around in the tank to follow the fuel. Also is the clunk line in the tank align? If so replace it.

Get rid of the bubbeless end and throw a new clunk line on , if your using a header tank just use the stock end in the main tank.

clockwise lean? and counterclockwise rich? yes....
