I'll be following this one.

I just got the Swift 620SE and have started the build, and have been very impressed. But I will be setting this up for max 3D. So I will also be using the 10S packs.

But I plan to also do one with their Green Bell-222 body. As 10S can supply more power then I am sure it would need, I will set mine up for 8S packs and lower head speeds (probably in the area of 1400 to 1500) and enjoy the resultant gentler (read scale-like) flights and longer flight times that one gets from these lower head speeds.

Parts Arrive Safe and Sound!!

Beautiful fuselage. Very high quality.

Accessories are nicely done and I got an assembly manual too.
The tail skid is rugged (sorry, kinda clipped the skid. It shows up in both photos though.)

I can't believe the 620SE fits in that little white box though.
No manual for the Swift. But, I did download the PDF manual from Century.

Got a little work done today. Overall I am happy with the quality of the kit.

Any balls or screws that were pre-assembled had what looked like CA on them as a thread locker. After some bad experiences with pre-assembled parts, I now tear them down to check and make sure everything is done right.

The build begins finally.

Build stopped due to defective part. One of the pins in the washout arm assembly is too short.
Hopefully Century will replace it.

This will probably be slow going as I have violated my rules and have two projects going at the same time. The other is the AH-1 Cobra that will begin as soon as the kit arrives from a private seller.

hey seaviper,

Im also working on a bell222(red)/ Swift

I got a swift 620 a few months ago and
it seems to be a good smooth heli (6s/5000)

and yes I had the same Quality issues, I had to send back quite a few parts but they took care of it.

so now that i got everything flying good

its into the shell!!

I have test fit it into the body and with a few mods i it will be flying in a week or two.

That's great Peter.

Post some photos and especially information on your method of mounting the 620SE mechs to the fuse.

Today I spent most of my time soldering 4mm connectors to batteries, making charge cables, plugs, etc. Batteries are all balanced and charged.

Here is the onboard radio gear being tested. Duralite 2s2p 4300 Li-Ion, 5.2v 7.5A reg with switch, 3 8717's, G7703D w/8900G, R921 2.4 Rx with two batt inputs. I'll be using 3 additional servos for retracts when mounted in the fuselage.

seaviper,

I made a stand for the machanics to sit on
out of 3/16 bass wood . 3x3x10 and used epoxy resin
to adhear everthing toghether and used fiberglass matting
for extra strenth. then I shimed the machanics up to align the boom with the shell using the shims that came with the shell.

My day job and the Cobra project are going to take up all my time it seems.

I am going to have to put this build on hold for alittle while.

If anyone is interested, I am doing a build of the Approach Engineering eCobra here

I usually fly at my house and the park nearby. Markham Park is a bit too structured these days.

Hi Peter,
I am currently working on a Raptor fit to this fuse and will be utilizing the box idea to get the to the correct height.
Might I suggest that you cut several holes in the side and top of your box to get rid if some of the weight. It wont compromise the strength of the mech support but will give more time in the air.

I concur on the holes. Lightening up the structure a bit should be OK.

long story but my 6s4000 would not balance out.

so i used 4, 3s2500 evo 25 packs to make a single 6s5000

2 in series and 2 in pairilal. (in front of the dash)

i am using the 600A+ motor and 9tooth pinion.

But i only have a HV45 speed controler

and I dont know what the extra weight will do to amp draw.

so I called eagle tree tree today on my broke v2

and they are going to send me a v3 for free.

then i can see whats going on before i make any

perminant modifications since my v2 died while doing a firmware

update.

I use the V3 myself. Feel like I'm flying blind without it.

I flew my Swift/MH-68 on the same setup but 5S. Drew about 35 amps max. So I think with 6s you are probably fine with the 45A ESC.
But the eLogger will tell you for sure.

it's not much a video, first hover though.

v3 came in today.. not bad 2 days turn around from eagle tree.

I got the connectors solderd on tonight so after I check the

hover current and double check the balance I can fly it around

a little bit more.

like you said seaviper, you gota have that micro logger

at least for that first couple of flights so you know whats going on.

I think i will perminaly mount though, maybe the LCD could be mounted

where the gauges go mite look cool.
