I'm planning on doing a conversion.
1988 Mitsubishi VanWagon (USA registered) and put in the entire 4x4 drivetrain / engine / components from a freshly tuned Delica.
Once the conversion is done, it would be a one of a kind in the states.
A 1988 Mitsubish VanWagon 4x4 2.5L Diesel
Mint condition. All parts are available in the US (87/89 Mitsu Van) and the 2.5L diesel is the same as Dodge D50 83-85 pickup (parts avail) as well as Mitsu dealers. So parts availability is there.
The 4x4 drivetrain is identical to Montero's. Bulletproof.
Q. How much do you guys & gals think it would be worth on the market ?
I'm gauging interest and whether or not it's worth my time to do the conversion and sell it in the states.
This is what it will look like.
This is a good example of what it can do for a van.
... But honey it was only $$$

LOL!
If you avoid failure, you also avoid success.

Buddy of mine hunts in the interior and laughed his ass off when I showed him mine a few months ago.
He bought one, lifted it and geared it for trails and hunting. Now he swears by it. Go figure.
To me it's one of the ugliest but coolest looking things on the road. Hard to describe.

That thing looks like it would roll over easily at anything above 7mph!

LOL I was thinking the same thing.
Hey I say if it floats your boat go for it! I've done V8 conversion to an MG Miget, 4cyl to V8 conversions on 87-93 mustangs etc...... It's all about what you like and what your budget can afford.
I wouldn't go too crazy though as I don't think you will ever be able to get your money back out of it. This is just my .02 cents.

I agree with Vance, it looks very unstable but still very cool!
