I had my maiden flight on the t-rex 500cf today. Nothing like getting the knees to shake again. My question is my headspeed is low and I need to increase it. I am running stock motor and speedcontrol with a 13 tooth pinion and a 6 cell 2500mah battery pack. Would a 14 tooth pinion be enough or should I go to 15? What do you guys think??? thanks.

Stock motor wont last long with 14T .

My stock motor was struggling as I used 13 T and 100 % TC

Did you have 100% TC straight on 13?

I use Z15 motor + 13 T + 90% straight TC and power is very good

yeah, something seems up.
I was running 6S stock motor and 12T at 95-100% throttle and i have enought to do sport, light 3D (flips, large tic-tocs) I've heard most people tell me with 6S and 13T a 500 can do most anything but the hardest 3D with a little collective finesse.
I got the scorpion 1600kv though and hot dam* with my 6S snd 12T i can do what took a 13T before, practically no bogging! I can't imagine what 13T will be like!
plus with a 6S 3000 and 12T i can get like 10 min of sport/light 3D flying.

My blade mCX can outfly your Aurora!! (in a 1' x 1' x 1' box) :)

Thanks for the help. It was a newbie mistake. I had just finished a flight on my T-Rex 600N and went to the 500's maiden flight. For some reason it just didn't seem fast enough. I took it out again today and it was right. Thanks for your help.
