A little build question if anyone can help,

one of the tail servo push rods goes through a length of carbon fibre tube (tail control rod A, page 14).

My push rod does not 'simply push in' to the tube. Was anyone else's an easy fit. I'm not sure if I can even force it through.

What's it for anyway, I can only think to give it some stiffness, but that can't be right since the longer tail rod along the boom would bend even more.

Surely not just to look cool?

Would it be safe to omit it?

Just screw it through. Once you start, because it's a tight fit, it heats up slightly and will go in easier. Don't force it or it splits.

Chuck it up in a drill and then hold the carbon lightly in a vice or with a towel (It will get HOT)

The rod mike's .077 in diameter. A 5/64 drill (.0781) will slide right into the carbon tube, so the rod fits fine. The problem is that the threading process raises the diameter over the threads. Mine miked .084 over the threads. That is why it does not go through the tube. You can judiciously reduce the diameter over the threads with a file. I did that and it worked ok. Just be careful not to take them down to the point where you cannot start the link on it. Oh, and you only need to do it on one end.
