Align hit it out of the park with this kit.

Here's what stands out to me over the CF kit and I'll start with the metal parts: Everything in the head (looks exactly like an upgraded black 500 head and they even give you the button to help them sell more blade grips) , cyclic levers (looks like it may retro fit?), lower stabilizer mount, tail slider, and main bearing blocks (minus the lower with shorter main shaft).

Other notables: The black looks awesome (very similar to a 500), dual trays for radio gear, shroud for elevator servo, CF servo spacers, white tail blades (paddles are natural CF), 600D blades, TT, 650L motor, 100A ESC, 6A BEC, 1900mah Rx Batt, yellow lightning canopy, new style landing struts (wht) and CF fins (no graphic).

The only metal upgrades missing are tail servo mounts, tail blade holders and hex spacers for the TT. White paddles and yellow landing gear would've been a nice touch. I'll add metal canopy mounts with breakaways on this one, too.

I just built a CF. I spent over $1200 to build it as this one comes out of the box for under $700. The CF will still lack the upgraded electronics and frame mods. Guess that'll have to be my 10S setup.

Thanks to Kirk at PPRC for making one of these available and for the great combo deal with a battery!

Did I read right that the main shaft is shorter than the CF version?
I hope thats not Aligns way of forceing us all to have to buy new heli kits because we can no longer get the right size main shafts anymore.

I made a mistake, just means would have to change linkage lengths to suit.

The missing length - and we're talking maybe 3/4" - is on the bottom, where it would normally extend to the lowest bearing block. I'm thinking you don't need the lowest bearing block because even the CF upgrade only comes with the 2 metal main blocks and not the 3rd, smaller, block. If it were necessary, the upgrade would come with all 3 and it wouldn't have been designed out on this version.

Another thing I noticed is the control link rods are a nice polished stainless. Not those burnt metal looking ones like they're using for the 500 & CF.

Let us know how you like that 650L motor.Heard its bigger shaft and bearings and lower rpms. Hope it has a little more power than the 1700kv.
thanks
