I fly 50 nitro birds and am looking into getting a trex I dont know anything about lipos. How many cycles can you get out of a batt if you use the 80% rule and what does everyone charge at 1c. I am looking at the tp1010 and the thunder power batts.

thanks

it depends on alot of things but if you treat them good you could get around a year of use... and yes charge at 1c...

If you get TP batteries, make sure you get the V2's. The V1's have problems with holding their charge, and dying prematurely.

Yea, but the generation 2 TP packs are a hit or miss as well, at least here with the vegas guys!

-Alot! Time your flights and aim for the 75% rule instead of 80.
-Keep cell voltage over 3.3 after flight(Higher is always better).
-Balance charge them every charge.
-Charge at 1c or less and that will keep voltages between cells at acceptable levels.
-I see this alot here in Vegas. Don't keep your lipos in the trunk. Don't get packs hot. This includes during flying.
-For long term storage, charge to 50-60%. This is weird but during this time I like to pop the packs in the refrigerator. According to sources, this maintains the pack and prolongs it's performance and cycle life.

Treatum right and they'll treat you right, unless of course you get a dud from the get go.

So if you take care of the battery and you get a goo one from the factory could you get 50 100 150 200 flights from them.

I've been flying for about a year and still have one of my first TP 2100mah packs and the thing still has as much nut as a couple of my 6-month old FP 2170's. I estimate well over 300 flights. I always use the 75% rule. Also using the 1010C with 210V.

I think it's a crap shoot as to how much life you can expect to get out of a pack. One of my KP packs is starting to lose it, though. It's still strong at the beginning, but I'm having to land about 30-seconds earlier with this one becuase the ESC LV kicks in. I'd say has at least 200 flight on it - maybe more. Another of my KP packs is same age/number of flights and is just about as strong as the last batch of KP's I just picked up (Ready Heli's x4 deal for $200).
