| When you say it "doesn't respond to input" are you saying it is not holding, won't turn from sideways flight toward backward or saying there is no response from inputs in either direction when in fast backward flight?
Why don't you think it is mechanical? I assume you mean you have worked through binding linkage, binding tail slider, lubrication, notchey bearing issues before and think those are not the issues now.
Do you include how much authority you have on the tail and how hard it is to move the tail control linkage under the full load of backward flight as mechanical?
Why have you centered on the gyro? You didn't include much (any) other information other then what gyro you have. That is not much to go on. With the wrong servo or set up the gyro won't make any difference in how the tail holds.
What model? What head speed? What blades? What tail blades? What Servo? What type linkage to the tail? Have you done the Chinese Weight mod to the tail blade holders? It makes a huge difference in how much force is required to move the tail control linkage under load. Most of the load is from just spinning at 13,000 rpm. It makes a huge difference on how hard the servo / gyro has to work and how well the tail holds, responds, and feels.
