I know I know a HELI forum..

On my sim, i never know if i have everything setup the right way for fixed wing models..

If i give right rudder in the tx, (looking from on top of the airplane, tail in) should the plane move clockwise or counter clockwise?

Stand behind the airplane.

Give it right rudder, the rudder should go to the right side of the center stab.

Give it left rudder, the rudder should go to the left side of the center stab.

What is a hoot is when you get a new airplane that shows up at the field that the LHS puts together and the nose wheel is backwards from the rudder.

it could be a heli or a plane rudder or nose wheel it all works the same. Right stick movement causes the heli or aircraft to go right. and left to go left.

For basic flight, about the only time you will use the rudder is to keep it straight on the ground during takeoffs and landings. other than throttle, your left hand doesn't do much.

When you get into aerobatics and start doing torque rolls, knifes etc, then you get into using the rudder.

a different direction; many scale planes can benefit/need coupled controls. Even with a basic trainer, you can use the rudder to assist with cross wind landings. This is where your heli skills will help with airplanes.

never say never.

I just started flying planes and being a heli guy I always use the rudder, I get some harassment from the plane guys.
