Hi fellas,
Just stopping by to say hi!

I have upgraded from a Blade CX2 to a Belt CP, not my choice was a gift, Im saving for a T-rex 450. And just looking for some tips and tricks, and some fellow rc pilots to talk too. Im nervous about my first flight with this bird, i dont know a thing about it, or how it acts, and i sure dont want to crash it beyond what i can afford to repair lol. So anything that you guys can help with for a first flight would be awesome!!

Thanks

Chaotic

Save up for a simulator! Go to your local hobby shop and ask them where all the heli guys fly. Go to the field and make some friends.

Heli guys are a great bunch of guys and will go above and beyond to help you out.

Take it slow

Good advice above, get a sim.

But no one said to put on training gear, it's a must for your first flights.

One other thing, don't slam the stick down when your feel your getting in trouble like you do with the CX, it will really tear things up. Said that like I know what I'm talking about, wonder why?

If you like this hobby as much as most of us, you will think, sleep and talk about helis only and nothing else. Welcome to RR.

I wish I could fly 24/7

Thanks fellas! What kind of training gear would i need? I fly on a grass feild, and nobody there has really mentioned training gear. Although i have seen them catch an edge in the grass and come close to flipping the heli a couple times...

Chaotic,

I made my own back 15years ago, using dow rods and wiffel balls. It was a 600 size nitro, so you might use something like 1/4 in dow and small hollow light balls (something larger than a golfball maybe baseball size) I'm sure if you do a search here you will get some hits, if not try google. Just zip tie them to your skids.

Good luck, and as the last post said, get out now or get addicted.

Well too late to get out ive already been bit :P So bad i wish everyday was saturday so i could get to the feild to fly lol.
And ill try that idea out, and see if the guys at the field can help me put em on, i know they have a hoolahoop thing someone uses for his .60 nitro, but he caught that on an edge hovering, and he paniced and it shot about 50 feet into the air...he did a nice job on that recovery, but just a lil more and it would have been bad
