Im new to the electric helis, (currently run a gasser and jet copter) and just purchased a 450 trex. My question is can i run the 11.1 voltage strait to the RX and everything else or do i need a regulator ?? Of course on the larger helis i run regulators. I know its probably dumb question but not sure on this one. Thanks for any help. (I will be using an 8 channel XPS reciever)

The battery plugs into the ESC ie speed control.
The ESC has a built in regulator that will drop the voltage to the rest of the electronics. Some people bypass the internal ESC regulator in favor of an external regulator for more amp capability if they are using high amp draw servos or the stock regulator on the ESC is running hot.

Good Luck,

Tim

Its called a bec, battery eliminating circuit, most esc's have them some don't. When you plug it into the throttle slot it gives power to the Rx.

The AMA is way better than what you belong to!
