| I've searched all day long here and in other forums but I can't find a similar problem described.
Shortly after spooling up, the rotor slows dramatically - as if the battery is dead. I have replaced the battery, the main motor and the tail motor with no luck. I have verified the new battery is fully charged using a volt meter (even the two older batteries are still in pretty good condition according to the voltage).
With the motors disconnected from the 4N1 the servos appear to work fine. With the motors connected and the rotor spinning at light throttle, everything appears fine except applying left aileron seems to draw the power down, causing the rotor to slow. The movement of the swash plate seems smooth and easy - no binding. When the linkage is disconnected the left hand servo seems to work smoothly and with no binding or unusual noise.
Where should I direct my attention next? That left servo does seem to chatter a bit more than the others when just sitting with the 4N1 armed but I think a small bit of chatter is normal, right?
Thanks for any suggestions in getting my antique CP flying again. |
