| I thought I'd share my experience with KDE Direct bottom plate. Somehow the holes on the original KDE Direct Bottom plate didn't line up very properly with those on my Trex-600E frames. I contacted KDE Direct and within a few hours, the owner (Leslie) responded to my email stating a few options
1. Return the product and they will send me a new one with modified geometry. 2. Keep the product and KDE Direct will offer me 30% off an additional frame for my other Trex 600 or another frames at any time in the future through their website. 3. Return the frame to the vendor for a refund
The aluminum material is of very high quality, so without thinking, I want the first option. I know it is good quality because I actually left half the hex screw inside of the bottom frame. Don't ask me how I did it, but I was a bit impatient while working on it. For each and every email that I ask, Leslie responds very quickly to each and every question I have. I'm very impressed of the prompt replies every time by the very owner of the product that I buy.
The replacement of the frame came by Priority Mail within a couple days. Here's what I get out of the box:

Moving on with the assembling. The improved version with the modified geometry is now a breeze to install on the frames

The KDE bottom frame itself is 75 grams. With some extra weight comparing to the stock plastic bottom frame, I'm now a lot more confident. I had a crash not too long ago that partially damaged the stock CF frame. Well I'm so not in the mood of rebuilding the whole heli whenever I crash. And boy, I do crash hard. This new aluminum bottom plate should come with some good protection for my new set of frames as pictured.
I'm still waiting for some new servos to arrive, so I can't put the heli all together to fly yet, but so far I am very impressed of this KDE Direct product. And the ability to communicate with the owner directly if I have problem, is just an extra peace of mind. |
