| I've gotta replace the engine in my 50 V2 and was intertaining using a 30 or 37 engine. I'm still learning and will only doing basic forward flight, figure eights and hover practice with it. With that little tank I'm considering using a small 30 engine just for the economics of running it. This small engine will not be a problem as I get better because I also have a Trex 600N Pro and a Kinetic 50, both of those have hyper 50's and don't not need the Raptor for anything other than basic practice.
If a 30 size will work, could I still use the 600mm blades or would I need to drop down to 550's. I prefer to keep the 600's, that way I only have worry about one size blade for all three heli's.
Also, if a 30 will work, anybody got a good use little motor they are looking to get rid of.
Will my current 50 motor mount and clutch fit the 30 or would all that have to be swapped out also. I've considered converting the Kinetic 50 to a smaller engine and put it's Hyper 50 in the Raptor but I have to buy a whole bunch of parts to make that swap.
I also prefer the belt drive in the Raptor for a trainer. |
