Listed as tial lock, is this the same as heading hold? anyone use them, always use fut 401, with fut. servo. looking at some used helis, one has 500t

What transmitter are you using? I got a used heli with a 500T and tried to use my Futaba radio and the two will not interface too well. It can be done but only after much tinkering. In the end I bought another GY401 and the 500T is now a cat toy.

Of course the 500T will work with a Futaba TX, functionally from a control standpoint, the gyro is identical to a 401.

Tail lock, heading hold, heading lock, and AVCS are all ways of saying the same thing.
Terry is right, it works fine with Futaba, there's just one extra step you need to do to keep it from drifting.

im glad somebody mentioned this.

I've also got a jr 500t gyro but it's not working right. I would accept any input from you guys. I have it on a mx400 but this is where you guys will probly get me is that i'm useing a E-flite EFLRS75 micro servo with it.It does a lot of "tail wagging" if i try to do any fast flying with it. Will this not work or do any of you know a better combo for this gyro.

I was wondering why the frizbee kept getting bigger.....Then it hit me!!!

You use sub trim to stop the drift while you are setting it up on the bench. Great gyro.

corkscrew, if the tail wags your gain is too high lower it until the tail stops wagging i use mini 3154 fut digitals on both 401 and 770 on mini titans, they work extremely well
