Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > New Trainer heli

I'm looking to replace an old Nexus 30. I can't get parts for it any more. I use it for buddy box flying (introducing plank flyers to helis at my club!)

I'm looking for a 30 size replacement so I can swap out electronics and OS32 engine into a new trainer.... Please let me know what you would recommend.

I have a Raptor Titan and TRex 600N but prefer to use a 30 size for training due to the fuel "economy".

Raptor 30, you can't go wrong with that.

Your choice depends on how well you can fly. The T600N is more fragile than the Raptor 30/50. My recommendation would be a Thunder Tiger Titan 50.

Hi BTS -

I can fly well - I'm looking to get a new 30 size (to replace old Nexus 30) to use as a training heli for other people to learn basics on..... It's not going to be my primary heli!!

another vote for the raptor 30
and sell the nexus off for parts on ebay, you should get some of the money back for the raptor

Just found out I did all this backwards.

Learned on a Bladecp pro till the tailmotors gave me nightmares.

Migrated electronics to a belt tail Honeybee King2 learned how to fly.

Thought Id get one of those overpriced TREX450SEV1's.

Now a Raptor 30 I am not an aspiring 3D pilot just a lazy day flyer no one ever told me a raptor 30 will hover itself.

Yeah I vote for the raptor 30 not the Blade CP PRO.

There is no way I would want to teach someone, on a buddy box, using the CP !! I started out with one (LHS recommended it as beginner heli!). I wish I knew then what I know now!! I would get 15-20 seconds of attempted controlled flight and then a lot of "repair" time!! Fortunately, I used training gear with my CP initially - I'm sure that saved me a lot of additional repair $$$....

My local club has a great airplane instruction program - the club owns 7 trainer airplanes w/ buddy boxes! I hope to open the heli door to more "plank" flyers !

on ebay the nexus will sell as parts
full heli's don't sell for much, but everyone who's got one wants the odd spare
but if you need main gears for the nexus midland helicopters in the uk has new ones
