I'm running two of them with X9303 2.4's and haven't had a problem.

It will work like a champ. You should have no problems with it.

They all work great together
... although you have to trim the Futaba tabs to fit some JR/Spektrum RXs.

Do I need to do some switching around when plugging in a futaba servo - black down or black up?

nope everything is universal these days with the exception of futabas little lip they have on their servo leads which you can shave off. Years ago there was differences but they stopped doing that a long time ago.

Thats awesome that I can miss match Futaba, JR, and Hitec. I was using Hitec servo's but always wanted to try the Futaba's.
