JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Vibe 90 dampners

Hi Guys,
I recently got myself a Vibe 90 and love it but need to replace the dampners as the current ones are too hard for me and it wobbles at the headspeed I'd like to run.

I ordered some new JR ones and they come as a 2 pack of 4. One marked '1' and the other marked '2'.

Which ones are the hard and soft ones and how should they fit in the head for soft, medium and hard damping?

Thanks for your help

Cheers
Lee

You want to run one hard one and one soft one. Put the hard one on first! Make sure you shim it properly too. NO Slop!
Boom strikes come from low head speed and blades being to loose!!

Thanks for the replies.

I'm not into throwing it around just yet - more of the gentle, smooth stuff at the moment. Will the standard JR dampners be okay for this style of flying? I don't like the idea of a boom strike

Am I following you correctly that the hard O ring goes nearest the main shaft with the softer one nearest the blade grip?

Thanks

Yes.. The hard one first then the soft!
Here's ours inverted at full negative pitch going backwards.

airship flying circuts or constant motion will never boomwack ,well unlikely ,it happens when you are changing direction ,the heli is going one way and you give it full opposite pitch the other way ,which causes increadible load and blade flex, its what makes the blades crack.
theres a video on you tube,[caleb flying daves jr vibe ]this was the flight before the boom whack, the dampners were 5 flights old.
in my opinion why risk it for 8 dollars and the ma dampners never wear out .
this is a photo of what was left after the boom whack ,about 1000 dollars to repair.

im just trying to save you guys from going through the same pain ive just been through

opti,
I understand what happened to you, and I am not here to "dis" you in any way.
I have seen Scott Grey, Curtis, Marty and many others fly theres exactly the way you discribe, and the Vibe 90's with the stock dampners never had any problems. BUT,, some do epoxy or CA them in!
I would even bet the new Vibe 90 will come with the same kind of O-Ring dampning configuration. Your suggestion for MA dampners is all good! But we need to make it clear that the stock dampners will also work. I think from reading some other posting on the spindle the main thing that would probably prevent this from happening at all, is the Tygon tubing mod that Scott Grey suggests. I am going to do that to both of ours. There is a lot of space in the hub for the spindle that's for sure!
Happy landing and hope to get the down under country someday!! Put a couple more on the barbee mate!

I just want to check, when you say the hard one first, does that mean installed closest to the headblock or furthest from it?
