Hi guys,
I'm not happy with the carb on my tt70, and I've read that people have used the os 61 carb ( the newest 3 needle one). Did you have to do any mods to your heli for this carb to fit? What initial needle settings did you use? Thanks!!

welcome to the club.
Get Super tiger Carb instead of OS, it's cheaper (1/3 of the price) and works great. Plus It's easier to setup then OS Carb!.

We've had good performance with the TT70. There's a rich spot somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle, but all in all a good puller. We basically smooth it out using the throttle curve.

I'd opt for the OS61 carb if I had it lying around. A new OS60B carb costs way too much. I'd rather you just sell the TT70 and get a new engine if you have to get the OS carb new.

I actually have an OS 60B carb that I got for a good deal, and it's new. But it looks like the needles could interfere with the frame. Anyone know Eric Freymann's correct email address? He's done this mod, I found his @home email address, but it doesn't work. Thanks!

OS carb

I've got an OS 60B carb on my TT70 in a Raptor 60. The combination is slightly better than the stock TT70 carb, but the difference isn't worth the price. The stock carb works pretty well, and I didn't have any problem with it. I'm just one of those who always has to try something different. You have to remove the insulating sleeve on the OS carb to get it to fit, otherwise it's a bolt on project. The sleeve will come right off, if heated with a heat gun, and can be glued back on with JB Weld, if you change your mind and want to put it back on the OS motor.
The problem I had with the TT motor related to the muffler, and I don't think you'll find the OS carb is the solution to your troubles. I tried the OS 61 LX and the OS61 SX with the stock TT muffler also, and none of the three motors would run smooth at hover with it. I'm currently using a Hatori muffler with the TT70, and with that muffler, the motor runs good regardless of the carb. Hope this helps. Steve.

there is usually no shortage of people selling trashed
OS engines and you can get the carb only for a song.

There is a guy on RCuniverse selling a trashed engine for $50.

Of course, the larcenous prices of OS parts ($24 for a ring?)
might have something to do it.
