Hey all,

I have an OS 50 SX-h on my raptor and I was taking it apart to clean since I've been having engine problems. I noticed that inside the engine where the carb pushes in to, there is a plastic sleeve of some sort. Stuck behind that is the rubber o-ring gasket. From the pictures in the manual, it appears that the o-ring should actually go around the carb part itself and form a seal/cushion between the carb and the engine. Is this correct? Also I see no mention anywhere about the plastic sleeve inside the engine where the carb pushes into. I tried removing it, but it's in very tight and I was scratching it. What is it and is it supposed to be there?

Thanks,

Skarn

The part is (23818190) Carburetor Sealing Washer and it should normaly
be easily removed (fall out).

It's shown in the manual (9)

The plastic sleeve is there to insulate the carb from the heat of the engine !!!!

Ok then if the clear plastic sleeve is number 9 (carb sealing washer) then what number is the rubber o-ring?

I still do NOT see anything that identifies the plastic sleeve.

Also, should the rubber o-ring be stuck down behind the plastic sleeve? From everything I've seen and read the rubber o-ring should be on the carb portion itself.

O-ring is shown on carburator page (item 10).

One part which is not shown clearly is the insulator

Bingo!

Thanks mdu6! That's what I was looking for.

I was finally able to remove the insulator last night....the o-ring was jammed down behind it.

Woah, I just noticed that it says on that page to attach it to the carb base with epoxy! I guess that's why I had such a hard time removing it

Thanks again,
Skarn
