Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > V-bar, Tail still drifting...

Ok kids, I have tried all kinds of settings and I am still having a tail drift in upright hover. I am at my witts end.

The model is an MA Stratus with the newest V-bar. Everything is in balance and the sensor is mounted in the normal gyro position with the V-bar tape. What gives?

Try turning the sensor around and don't forget to check the sense's of the gyro's. That has worked for me in the past. Also I had one model where I had to move the sensor behind the main shaft. Guess its a vibration thing!!

If you are a Spektrum user as the picture shows then rebind before doing any of the above and ensure there is no trim, sub trim, mixes etc in the transmitter for the rudder channel.

Ink's Tape is a good one.

Other things to try are increasing rc deadband and gyro deadband, reduces sensitivity.

Two pieces of tape? That is awfully spongy isn't it? Hmm...

Im using Zeal-tape, we are talking 5-6mm thick, so one double-sided tape if we talk futaba or thinner is way too little for a nitro.

CSM (also around 5mm very soft) works too.

Woo Hoo!!! I double stacked the tape and the tail is rock fricking solid now. I am going to keep tweaking it out but it seems pretty friggin good right now.

On a side note, In all of my last few flights, I had trimmed the cyclics up pretty good. It seems now that I had to take out most of the trim I had initially set and now the cyclics are even more locked in than it was before.

I will keep you all posted and we will see how it goes. Word.
