Hello,

I fly nitro helis. Now I'm a newbie to electric heli and about to order a Logo 600 3D from a website. I don't know all the required items I need to order to fly the heli. The only items I do know to order are the following below items. Can you please tell if there's anything missing, and what else I need to order?

Thanks!

1. Logo 600 3D kit

2. Kontronik Motor

3. JR 12X radio, receiver, four 9717 servos. Do I need to get a on/off switch for the receiver?

4. JR G7000T Extreme Tail Lock Ring Gyro

5. LiPo 10S Battery and Charger

in addition to ^^^^^ you also need

battery balancer depending upon the charger you buy
pinion
battery to power the receiver or a BEC
connectors for esc and batteries

if this is your first heli you also need
setup tools such as a pitch guage and ball link pliers

Kontronik motor and pinion gear

Which Kontronik motor should I get? Which pinion gear do I need to buy for these motors?

I use the 45-7 on 10s w/13t pinion. The 45-6 would work well on 15 or 16t. I would not recomend the 45-8 or 45-10 on 10s in the Logo 600. I do use a 45-10 on 6s in my L10. Oodles of power, super cool and efficient.

There are less expensive motor options for the L600 that will provide every bit as much and more power. Check out the Scorpion 4025 and 4035 motors.

I don't use an on/off switch on any of my E-helis.

The 8717's might be overkill. That being said, run them on two L600's with the 8900g tail servo. I also run the 3517's with a 3500g on my L10. I run the 770 3d gyro on all. I'm real happy with this set-up.

I'm currently waiting on a Jive 80HV for L600 #2. Damn this stuff is pricey! Oh well. The world will likely end tomorrow anyway. Might as well have fun.

Peace out!

The new Scorpion line of motors are awesome on the Logo 600s. Either the 4025-630 with 16tooth for sport or long flight times or 17 tooth for maddddd 3dzzz. They are very reasonably priced to much cheaper than a Tango

I've had a couple of 45-08s. pretty good motors....

but they were weaker than my Actro 24-3....I have put 68 flights on the 24-3 in the last 4 weeks so its not a new battery thing...the Actro is a nice motor.

I would go with the 24-4: light, strong, lots of gearing options, easy to work on, lasts a long time.

the Scorpions look worth a try, but if you are willing to buy a Kontronik, take a look at the Actros too.

onboard on/off switch

Can you tell me why you don't need an on/off switch for the receiver and servos? All my nitro helis all have an on/off switch. If you don't install the switch then the servos, and receiver is always on and using power (BEC) from the flight pack. Unless you disconnect the flight pack. So is connecting and disconnecting the flight pack is actually the on/off switch?

Hey Case! Wouldn't the 45-8's 800kv be a bit high to run 10s in an L600?

Switch: You could use a switch if you really want. Actually, I kinda like the switch with a built-in charging port for Rx battery. I run a BEC wired directly into my main battery connector. Everything powers up at the same time. The switch just seems redundant to me. It's also another part that can fail. I believe it really comes down to personal preference.

Copy 10-4....I think the 45-08 spins way too fast for a logo 600.

In my opinion, the Logo 600 really is at its best on a 40+ mm outrunner in the 500-700kV range on atleast 10s.

actro 24-4: 570
scorpion hk40 series-630: 630
century650a: 565 (probably kinda weak on 10s from what I hear...also known as Z-50-600A and fifty other names)
....thats about all I can think of right now

the 45-08 is good for 10s in a trex 600 or a MA-razor on a small pinion...its also good motor for a light 3300mah 10s setup in a logo spinning 550-570mm blades at ridiculous rpms.

in a Logo, high KV is high headspeed, no way around it.

the real high rpm hotrods are fun but they auto like **** if you ask me..... seems the limit on blade weight is 120grams to protect the thrust bbs beyond 2300rpm

normal 600mm blades (140-150g) are a little too hard on the thrust bbs at 22-2300rpm...went through 4 different sets to confirm this!

anyways TMI as usual

Motor choice...

I have used about Every motor conceivable in the logos over time..

Here's my Current favorites...

Scorpion 4035 630Kv for ALL OUT power
Actro 24-3 for Killer power and efficiency...never gets hot either
Actro 32-3 for all around good performance
Scorpion 4025 series 740KV for GREAT power and cheap price
Scorprion 4035 series 560KV for GREAT Power Great price and Tons of torque..

The tangos are okay...but definitely not the powerhouses in the bunch..
