does the piston look ok? it probably got hot running with little or no air movement over the cylinder head.

I always check temp after a flight and it looked OK. Since the engine is out though, I'll pull the head and check the piston.

What should I look for?

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,

^^^^^you can just look at the piston in the exhaust port with the muffler off.see if it looks bar-b-qued.or scored.if is galled bad enough it will have low compression.

Just got back from the field. One of the guys heard a strange noise in his 700N and dropped the engine there at the field.

Yup - all 4 fan screws had completely backed out!

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
It was a good trade!

Don't think it cooked the engine.

He was flying it yesterday with no issues.

Mine was fine too.

Got red loctite on mine now!
