Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > SK360 questions for 450

Im just wanting to know if going flybarless has any effect on having more consistent power available through a flight?
Im weighing up weather I will go 4s and Scorpion 2221-10 motor, or go SK360 and stay with 3s Scorpion 2221-8 that I have.
At the moment my heli makes good power, but at the start of the flight its super punchy, and does the usual slow decline of an elctric through the flight.
I realise electric will always be like this to some extent.
What I want to do is minimise this as much as possible.
Some of you will say just do both....yep thats the plan, but not at the same time. I have my heli budget, and doing both at the same time just isnt possible.
Im doing mild 3d at around 3180rpm now. Tic tocs, flips, rolls, loops, lots of pitch pumping etc etc.
Im using my 450 as my practice tool for my bigger toys.
Tell me what you think from those that have used flybarless on an electric.
Cheers

If you bling it, they will come :D

Would not a Jazz ESC with governor help you keeping a fixed headspeed and hence power????

Yes, but then I would have to drop my headspeed to give the governor headroom to keep rpm constant???
My max RPM on 13t now is 3180 which Im happy with.
Good thinking though

What you're probably experiencing is the tailing off of the voltage of the pack in flight- perfectly normal. No, a flybarless head won't fix that for you. If you can't take it up a tooth in pinion to free up room for a governor, then yes, 4S is a viable option. I have an HK 2221-10 on my Mini Titan with Evo 25 4S packs, plenty of power to tune it for a governed, steady RPM.

Flybarless gives you a bit less drag, but not enough to be the sole reason to install it. The flexibility, mechanical simplicity and and adjustment potential are much better reasons.

Cool, thanks for that.
I will still get the SK360, and will go 4s later as cash flow allows.
Cheers

No problem. I just got a Logo 600 and put an SK360 on it (couldn't lay hold of a VBar). It was surprising to me how easy it was to get set up. I took my time with it, but it was unexpectedly straightforward.
