I got my parts today to convert my Logo 10, and I don't understand the new boom support. My Logo 10 has a single boom support in the middle, but the Logo 400 has two supports. But, the package came with linkages and balls, is this the method of attachment? I don't have anything on the frame that matches up with this, must be an add on that I didn't get.

Got that figured out. This image on RH's parts site:
http://www.readyheli.com/MIK4178_Ca...0_p/mik4178.htm
shows 4 machine screws, but the boom brace kit doesn't come with the screws. These screws are needed and have to be long enough so that the ball links can be slipped over the screw and still grab the nut (at least on the boom support). For the boom brace I used 3mm x 30mm. They were a little too long, but that's all I had lying around.
Also of special consideration, the ball links that come with the kit have 3mm holes.

I'm just doing the same upgrade. Do we need these boom supports? There were no boom supports on the Logo 10 I bought so wonder if we really need this for the 400?

I rocked the tail back and forth without the tail supports and I think there is some flex there. Not alot mind you. As I mentioned previously, the old tail boom support was a single rod, which is suppose was to prevent up and down motion. That being the case, I'd say Mikado felt that that was necessary. Now they've changed the design to not only minimize up and down motion, but also side to side.
I'm theorizing that with all the stress 3d flying puts on the tail, the need for additional support is more necessary that ever.
Now that's all said, will it fly without the boom support, I'm sure it will.

I should be flying tomorrow, today's a workday for me
