I have a 9 year old Raptor V1.
Where do I go and what do I get to mount the Tail servo in the back on the boom instead on the frame up front?

Thx

Do you or anyone else know if I'll be able to use the existing rod or have to get something else?

push rod

you need a shorter push rod.
i myself use the rear mount with no problems, but there are some who leave the servo up front to protect it from the oil fumes that come out of the muffler, which may cause over time damage to the tail servo, so think about it before you choose. if you do choose to use the rear mount, put a rubber diverter on the muffler if you don't have one already.

I was convinced to put mine back up front even after I had it already mounted with the CF mount and shorter pushrod. I only have standard servos cant even imagine how I would feel if I soaked a $75 servo with oil and crashed because of it.

I was thinking about doing that as I upgrade to a HH gyro.

I run 30% so I blow lots of smoke. So does my Heli.

OK, Idea trashed.

I lost a $100 tail mounted servo on my first raptor - I run them up front since. When I first built my Titan I did put the tail servo out back as the parts for doing so came with the kit and allowed me to run the push-pull setup on the Titan. I took the PP linkages off and put the tail servo up front. Tail performs the same, doesn't get hot oil all over it and the collective is better, less stuff going on.

Plus you can run a lighter battery and still balance so my Raptor is a bit lighter.

...yep...

Boom mount servo

If you want a cheap option use a sceadu 50 tail servo mount the std plastic one. Mount it on the boom cut the dog leg out of the push rod and re join with the std joiner and use the std push rod guides. You will need slightly longer self tapper screws for the tail mount as the boom is a little thicker.
