What throttle and pitch curve values are users finding success with? Just need some values as a starting point. And graphically what should the curves look like?

You may get all kinds of different pitch and throttle curve numbers, and they all will be correct, but they all will be different from your helicopter. The mechanical set up will determine the numbers. You can't imput values from someone else's setup and go flying. There are to many variables and differences.Once you have bench set it up there is still the final tweeking at the field once in the air.Sorry there are no magic numbers.
Most gassers are set up -10 0 +10 for pitch
and throttle is nothing like a nitro.Gasser's hover around 30% so not much going on in points 1,2,3,on the curve.Hope this helps

Gasser set up

I think that it is all down to a lot of different factors as was said.Your skill level ,type of flying you are into,or capable of .I set up helis for novices and have next to no negative to begin with.I am not a 3D pilot myself and i do not like to fly with too much negative because it can make the heli choppy in normal flight.I have my Gassers set up with enough negative to auto-rotate and thats it.But obviously if you are skilled and fly 3D most of the time you want all your negative/Positive mixes.A lot of guys seem to run with the full 3d set up but cant 3d which can make for some pretty jerky flying.I think it is down to personal choice and fine tuning your curves to suit yourself. Are you using a governor? What heli are you flying?I expect someone here can help with a starting point if you have a popular gasser.

I'm using a GV-1 and "hope" to fly a Spectra G.
I have no desire to fly 3-D.
Given no 3-D flight, should the throttle & pitch curves be linear?

For non 3d flight I use 0,25,45,55,65.
If you use a linear throttle curve 0,25,50,75,100 you will overspeed the head and may burn up the engine.
As others have said gassers are not similar to nitro or electrics for throttle set up. The secret is to keep the engine in the torque curve and not just use RPM to keep it in the air.

I use a linear pitch curve from -7 to +12. You must have the neg pitch or the heli will never come down and you take the chance that the motor will bog.

Dont forget

The numbers change between a G26 and a G231 engine, when you change mixtures, how you setup your linkage, and what ATV's you have.

Every time you change mixture your numbers will be wrong again, that is, if you fine tuned them to match the gv-1 speeds before.

55% at hover seems high, but you can configure things different to get that which may match someone else's 27.5% at hover.

EDIT: Wrong is a bad word, not wrong but they will not match the gv-1 speeds again. They need to be in the ballpark so the gv-1 will work properly. If they are way too far off (higher for example), when you switch modes the engine will speed up first (respond to throttle curves) and then the gv-1 will throttle it back down.
