or wait for the Vibe 500E ?

I'm not Greg, but I do have the TREX500.

I don't know anything about the VibeE.

But just for fun, I would say I don't know what more I could want in a 500 that mine doesn't offer.

Hilarious! The Raptor ate the King, burp!

Mike, here's the list of stuff that's coming toward the end of the week.

3 Batteries
servo wire braid
Tray for the gyro http://www.readyheli.com/RDLohr_s_T...gyro_mount2.htm
Copper tape to ground the pulleys
USB interface for the gyro
Second set of Align CF blades (these are the new cheaper onces with a wood core. I'll start with these since they are heavier and cheaper than the kit CF blades.
Step down for the rudder servo as I'm running the cyclic's at 6v

Adding the braided cover and routing the servo wires should go quickly. There's lots of room in frame and there are a few good routing options. I suspect that I'll be spending most of my time working on the gyro setup. With a USB interface and lots of options to configure, its a little more complex than my Logictech.

or wait for the Vibe 500E ?

I'm not familiar with the Vibe. But I can answer the question without knowing anything about it. Absolutely not. The T500 is very well estabished by now. All of its strenghts and weaknesses are all known and documented. Its still well thought of by those that have them. One thing you can see over time is a hot heli comes out. Right off the bat, everyone has got to have one. Check back 6 months or a year and that hot heli is now old news. Perhaps some plaguing issue has come to light or something better has come along. Except for the static issue neither has happened to the T500.

Rarely do we see mfgs hit thier release date. The T500 is available today and I know what to expect. I don't want to be in the waiting line forever to be the beta tester for a heli manufacture. The recent issues in the 450 market are good example of how the next great thing is not always as near or as good as it might appear.

I also don't like having to keep parts in stock since the LHS does that for me. I still have some HBK2 spares I bought almost a year ago that I may never use.

As for the T500 lots of glowing comments about this heli are all over both the big forums. This heli's performance won't decrease when the Vibe or the Outrage 550 hit the streets.

500 sure is popular but I was afraid it would leave me wanting more. So I went one step further. I found these things are never big enough.

I am sure it doesn't matter what you get/got you've got the disease same as the rest of us. If you got a $5000 Turbine 3D mega copter you wold still be "looking" for the next thing in a few weeks. I don't think there is or ever will be a "lifetime" heli.
