OK, a Specktrum Newbie here with maybe a real dumb question, but would like to get it right before I mess something up.

The manual shows quite a set-up for binding, and the binding plug in their diagram looks to be one that plugs into the transmitter. In the box, there is nothing but a couple small plugs dangling off each other
with one of them labeled as the binding plug. Am I missing part of the binding cables, or is the manual showing old procedure?? What they
show as the binding plug is a plug-in for the Tx.

the binding plugs are together. they will do different kinds of recievers. the bind plug goes into the reciever. ignore the diagram, if you have your bird together with the servos inside. plug the bind plug into the batt/bind spot on your reciever. proceed from there.

Thanks Dave!

Have a few words for that diagram. Thought it was a pretty simple process, just didn't want to screw something up right off the bat.
Thanks again.

yeah, looks like they want you to bind before you put the servos in, and want you to attach an on/ off switch. my switch is plugging in the battery, and i aint gonna take the servos out for a bind. after your setup is complete, bind everything again, so the failsafe is set at low points.

If you use the standard JR heavy duty switch harness in your arrangement, the one with all three wires -- red, orange, and brown -- you simply plug the RX battery into the harness as usual, and the end that normally goes to the RX into the Battery port labeled Batt/Bind, as usual.

Plug the supplied bind plug into the CHARGE plug that's dangling out of that harness and apply power to the RX. Then power up the TX while holding the bind button on the back "on".

The bind port on the RX simply needs to see the two outer pins of the connector jumpered together when power is applied to have the RX go into bind mode. The heavy duty switch harness with all three wires, allows you to do this.

If you have the wimpy JR switch harness that only has the brown and red wires (no orange) you'll need to plug the bind plug into the bind port of the receiver, then apply power to any other open plug on the receiver.

Don't forget to remove the bind plug when you're all through.

Some good help from a couple of Daves !

Dkshema, I'm doing electric, no switch harness, so did the same thing you mentioned in your last paragraph; (next to last). Thanks again to you both.
