Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > how long should the coupler between the manifold musle pipe last?

Mine only lasted for about 2 gal. of 15% fuel. I thought maybe I was running it to lean and caused it to burn up. Not sure.

Coupler life...

Howdy!!
I have never had a coupler fail on a 30 size model.. I have always run 30% nitro.. I can't give you a firm # on flights or gallons, but I have gone literally a year or more (at least a couple hundred flights) before replacing them.. The Muscle pipe instructions say the header will last "about 40 flights" but I have had mine on for 60 now and it doesn't look like it will give out any time soon. I run 15% in my 60's so the coupler probably doesn't take as much abuse (heat and acid).. If your's burn't up after 2 gallons of 15% I would definitely question you mixture setting.. What kind of pipe is it and who makes the coupler??.. The Aerotrend couplers are pretty hefty, and they have a cream colored one that is supposed to be super tough...

Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours

The Prather "red" couplers are the best, bar none. I have had one of them on for over 2 seasons now. Lean runs will destroy the coupler much faster. I have never had very good luck with the Aerotrend Blue couplers though.
