I have lots of time not lots of money , so I made my own hyperdrive . I havn't even flown my Synergy yet but the stock TT just never felt right . This homemade hyperdrive feels smooth as silk .I got the 1/4 x 7/16 x 1/2 bearings from mc master carr if you are wondering .It only cost me $6 for the bearings each and $10 for the two drill bits .I had a small peice of 6061 lying around . My tube ends look just like the hyperdrive ones . I had to shorten the tube by 3/8 of an inch. Then I just glued the aluminum ends in with some panel bonder .Their not coming out .

I think you may be missing the point that the real HYPERdrive uses no setscrews for the reason that they typically throw the coupler off center.

Spend more time working and you will have more money.

But, honestly I would use the glue if your sure it is strong enough and glue your stock ends in and indicate them in while drying and indicate the stock couplers in, it is not a bad system it just take time to get it right but it will work in most cases.

I think you should retitle the thread to IRONHIDEdrive.

Carl I got what you mean on the set screws . I did drill the 6mm hole for the shaft .002 under . There is no slop like the stock stuff. I machined mined to fit , they machine theirs to fit after anodizing . This is a tricky process. We hard anodizie stuff all the time .And I could have broke out the slitting saw and counter bored and taped some holes . But if the adapter is on there .002 pess fit , the set screws are just there to keep it from spinning free. And mine only cost me 2 hrs and 22 bucks .

That's cool, it is time consuming to machine the split clamp design. Can you take a pic of the end of your TT, It was unclear what you did on that part.

Thanks in advance.
