I painted the CH-53 this morning and I added the clear windshields and chin windows. Also got in a flight All I can say is very cool. I wanted to paint it Navy grey (Didnt have the color) but I guess I'll do it on another one. Prototype is done.

Oh right forgot about that. Perhaps you could PM it to me? I am trying to find the paint name they used on them to if you want it.

Y'all do excellent work...
One question though. Why don't most people with "scale" H-60/H-53 model forward tilt of the rotor mast?

I dont know, I build a little few degrees into the platform which gives the scale like tilt of the main rotor. Looks 1st class.

That is looking really good there Darth. When are you planning to put the landing gear on? It looks almost real flying around. Now if someone just made a 6 bladed rotor head in this size.

Drkhorse,

Since you have 'inside' info, can you explain what the reason for the large sponsons on the Navy -53E's is, as compared to the 'normal' ones on a Marine -53E? Is it just for fuel?

The -53E has always been one of my favorites, just wish there was something in between Darth's and the turbine end of things!

Yes Rodan, The bigger sponsons on the navy birds are for fuel. The MH holds 21k lbs while the CH holds only like 17k lbs. The MH also has a 4th hydraulic system to run mine sweeping gear. They are meant to do mine sweeping only thats why they have the bigger tanks because its a very slow paced mission that takes alot of time.

As for something in between Darths and the turbine size Nyturtle said he was working on a 600 size earlier in this post. I would like to see that one as well.
