Scale Model RC Helicopters > T-rex/Belt CP 450 size CH-53 Sea Stallion

After being bombarded with the request to make a CH-53, Ive decided to take on the project. As time permits, its comming together pretty good. Right now Im making the molds and it may be a little while before I can form the first prototype body. I plan on adding as much detail as I can. with the fuselage being so small in scale I dont think rivets are in order. I plan on doing some panel lines. Im working the fuselage so that an aftermarket elevated tail should work without much modding. Myself I like using the electric tailmotors. I dont plan on putting a multiblade head in mine but I have been made aware that a five blade hub is available. Anyway, heres a peek.

that looks AWSOME!!!!!!! I myself am very partial to 53's Im glad to see one being done i a 450 size. What will it be made of? For the drive angle change I think High TQ USA makes one and possible the cobra conversion kit from Thunder Tiger could work. But I will be watching to see when they are done as i will order one right away.

Only one point for the multi blade guys..the "Sea Stallion" had 6 blades, and the "Super Sea Stallion" had 7 blades and 3 engines.

I may have to add one when you get it finished Ed.

Yes the differences are between what Darth is building the "D" model and the the seven blades and three engines is the "E" Models. The E's are longer and also the tail is canted plus a smoothed out main rotor pylon. Oh and by the way Darth that looks fantastic I will keep checking in. Thank you for building this in the 450 size I thought I would never see one.

The body is High Impact polystyrene. All the parts are vac formed (quite a few parts) nose section is detachable and so is the upper cowling. Clear windshields are molded and vac formed. Still have more parts to form. Its getting there.

That is going to be a BIG bird. Looks better everytime you put up new pics. You will have to post finished pics and some of how you mounted the machanics.

I can probably shoot for some panel lines but rivets on a CH-53 scale this small I dont see it being necessary or practical.
