Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > New Vbar up and running Trex 600N

Well I did it, Trex 600N is now flybarless. All I can really say is WOW! I was totally amazed how well it flew. Talk about total pucker factor "Geez" afterwords I had like major, well I won't go there. LOL Flybar's, who needs them?

I have flown this in Classic mode and Extended mode, I really like Extended the best. I can't imagine what Ultra mode is like.

The new Control panel is really cool, although I am still learning how to use it.

No two ways about it, this is really cool stuff

Kenny,
I just got mine together also. My 600N fills much lighter int the air now. I have not had a chance to open in up, but I bet it is fun. Hope to compare notes when we are both at the field next time.

There is absolutely some mechanical advantages not having a flybar. Beyond the obvious power increase the most noticable point I found was the lack of bad tendency's that the flybar had.

That would mean you would have to come out on a Saturday

No I have not. I am running Futaba 9252 on cyclics. Will those work on Ultra mode? The manual states that Ultra mode should only be used with higher end servos????????

First, I realize that Vbar is NOT a co-pilot. how much is the Vbar assisting you in flight? Ok, backup, that was stupid.

I am really surprized how much better the Vbar works compared to paddles.

I am so addicted to this I don't know if I can live with myself. LOL

I just flew my heli this afternoon with the VBar and it is very nice. Now my rolls are so perfect just like I do them in the SIM. I did fly it in Ultra mode. I have BLS451 for servos running on 6V with CY 600 Blades, and I am running the YS50 for a motor.
I first flew with the default settings with 80 for my cyclic which gave me +-15 for pitch. This seems to bog my motor, and then I tried +-12 pitch which seems to go easy on the motor but not as much punch, so I will try playing with the pitch until I like.

I have a question though. When I flew into the 10MPH wind and if I give it elevator input the heli seem to have a brief moment of grabbing hard like it is pitchy. When I just fly straight into the wind without any elevator input it flew like an arrow. Is there a setting to fix this? Fly away from the wind I did not have this issue. This was the only issue I had.

Joe,
As far as your pitch/bogging is concerned, unless your running a really high headspeed the motor will not like +-15 for pitch, 12 should be achievable if your motor is tuned correctly with a reasonable head speed.

First thing that comes to mind is you may want to increase your cyclic gain slightly. But make sure its not you over steering the stick. In Extended mode yesterday Rick was trying mine out, he was doing a huge loop and on the downhill side and building speed it did not act pitchy at all as he came out of it. Ultra mode should be even better from what I understand.

Kenny,
When I did stall turns and when coming out into the wind is when I really noticed the pitchy part. Doing a stall turn going with the wind I did not see the pitchy part.
On the pitch I was suppressed that the default was +-15, but I am now at +-12.
Thanks
Joe
