If you are running 2 4s packs that are 2200mah I would run them in series. Thats how I run my 4s packs on my 8s setup for my trex 500. Also if you are running 2 4s batteries you might want to modify your battery tray for a better canopy fit.

okay im backwards the, running them in series adds the two voltages, so it would be 14.8+14.8=29.6 volts ?

yeah I know there are mods, but I think the best way to mod for 8 cell is move canopy forwar about 1 inch. this fixes cyclic rods hitting the canopy and adds extra room for batts. Im trying to find the thread on all mods for 500.

Depends on what packs you are using. My Revolectrix 4S 2100s fit just fine on a stock setup.

beeflyer2 I like your setup. How do you like those batteries? Those are the one from FMC Direct? I cut my frame down to fit my packs although I have never tried putting my packs that far forward. Does it give your bird better balance? Mine tends to be a touch tail heavy.

How do you like the outrage packs? A buddy of mine in California runs those outrage packs and he swears by them. I am in the market for some more battery packs and just trying to decide what to get. My buddy says that the outrage packs are better than the flightpowers that he also run.

Yes, Revolectrix are from FMA Direct in the US. They are very good packs that provide consistent power for many, many cycles. I have over 220 cycles on my oldest pair and they still run just as strong as the newer ones. I have yet to kill one of these lipos.

I fly pretty hard and the packs get warm, avg 135-140F in the summer. I also charge at 2C. Still, they seem to last forever.

Because they are relatively light, I have to put them that far forward to balance.
