Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > Need help with setting the phasing with my HeliCommand Rigid and 4-bladed head! ((DONE))

I could sure use some help setting up the phasing on my TT Rapter E620 with a 4-bladed head and a HeliCommand Rigid! I finally got the HeliCommand Rigid setup for the flight controls, thanks to David at Exprit Models. However, he wasn't sure how to set the phasing with the HeliCommand Rigid using the PC! Thanks.

Mixer tab - virtual swashplate rotation. I presume you need to rotate it 90 degrees in the direction of rotation and fine-tune from there.

I've never used it, so good luck. Make sure you test with woodies

Swashplate rotation would only be 45 degrees, not 90, unless there is some real strange geometry going on in the head.

Joe,

I am currently set at about 45 degrees now, but my HeliCommand Rigid PC program has a setting adjustment for the phasing and I have no idea how that is supposed to be set! Any ideas? Thanks,

Richard

Get the blades at right angles to the helicopter, i.e. two line up exactly with the boom, the other two stick out at 90 degrees to the helicopter, then when you apply elevator control only, the two blades sticking out sideways should move and the two lining up with the boom should stay still. If this is not the case then change the virtual swash rotation angle until you get no movement on the inline blades. If you are mode 2 then you may find it easier two change your radio to mode four so that you get no aileron intreaction by mistake whil moving the elevator (it's Ok for me as I fly mode 4 anyway). OBVIOULSY CHANGE IT BACK TO MODE 2 BEFORE YOU FLY (this assumes you are mode 2) I have just set up and flown my big Puma with OF 4 blade head with the Rigid. It flies like a dream. Should be able to post a video soon.
